WOW
The days just keep passing fast and furious! Monday marks the end of the first 9 weeks here for my county. I am playing hooky today and took off for a mental health day. My plate is so very full of various portions (responsibilities) and then the spaces between my portions (because WHO wants their food to touch??) is full of other tasks/quests. Every time I get those middle areas clear more pop on in.
Cross Country season is going strong and that is partially why I am off today. We were supposed to go to Tallahassee for out pre-state meet but it was cancelled due to the storm. We already had subs and sub plans so we chose to switch our temporary duty elsewhere to paid time off.
I still have four classes a day and then travel to other classes to help ESE (Exceptional Student Education) students in those classes. I help ALL students though in those classes that way no one feels called out. I have 2 ESE classes myself where every student has an IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and then 2 classes that are standard. Meaning a mix of standard students and IEP/504.
I got a new class a few weeks after the school year started. 25 FRESHMAN!!!!! OYE! They just do not know how to stop talking!!! Then the squabbling back and forth like a bunch of chickens is just stupid. Thankfully, it is "friendly" squawking and not borderline fight but it is still a lot.
I do have a weigh loss update. I am bouncing between 27-29 lbs down now. I have been increasing my dosage slowly and have had minimal side effects. The one I have semi regularly is sulfur burps. That is just because digestion is slowed down. I eat WAY LESS now. I would rather get a kids meal than full size things. Due to reduce appetite and price. Plus, if I eat too much then I will end up with an upset stomach.
I also have a school update. I was named our schools ROY (Rookie Teacher of the Year) so that is now another small portion on my overfull plate. I have to turn in a blind resume and portfolio information to be judged by our local people that oversee that. I also have to go get a headshot and attend a gala in January celebrating all of the TOY and ROY in our county where they announce the big winners. If my blind information is chosen then people will show up and watch me teach as part of the choosing a big winner process. I am grateful to be chosen and recognized by my school but I do not need more responsibility. Basically, I got a social media post of me with the kids I was with and a basket of snacks with a balloon.
I now have a 3 day weekend with no cross country which means no 5 am or earlier wake up tomorrow. I don't even have my daughter since she is sticking with the original plan and sleeping over with grandparents. They didn't cancel even though race cancelled because they knew how much she was looking forward to it.
Off to go work on this ROY stuff.
