Last day of SUMMER 2026

 Hello lovely people!

It is finally here... the last day of summer for me. I report to work at 8 am tomorrow. Normal time is 7:35 so they are letting us come back slowly since there are no students yet. We have a week of trainings and then the kids come back on August 10th.

I spent my summer not accomplishing much. A little bit here and there like organizing my dressers and half ass my closet. I did a good amount of activity but admittedly I COULD have done more. I don't think I will hit my 3 times a week this year goal. But I am still going to move as much as I can. I think I was supposed to have 156 workout for the year (off the top of my head) I am at 57. I should have been at 78 by July 1st. Oh well! I will still keep moving to a certain degree. I have modified the YMCA membership so no more pool. I still have my Planet Fitness that I admittedly have not gone to the entire month of July. I am keeping my Planet though and want to see if I can squeeze in working out once school starts. With Cross Country season upon us and I am not sure if I can.

I have lost a total of 16.2 pounds since May 23, 2026. 14 of it was me with watching what I was eating and moving more. I am not sure if the other 2.2 is from me continuing this or from the peptide. I am doing well on it and I have had no side effects. I am still on a small dose though as you start small and then work your way up. I have gone up a little faster than the guides I have seen but my body is handling it well. The best part of this? No food noise! I can take or leave things much easier now. I will say I had started this on my own with watching portions but this makes it even easier. It also makes me think of money more oddly enough. I spent about $333 on all the supplies and the peptides I have will last for several months depending on how much of a dose I go up to. The order I got came with 10 vials of peps. So of course higher dose means you use them faster. The peps were $268.00  It is unregulated as I said, they are sold for invitro use only.

Let me roll back to the money part. For instance we were in town a few weekends ago and my husband suggested grabbing lunch. Nothing sounded good to me. He mentioned Chick-fil-a which normally i would have jumped on because he doesn't like it. I said no because I knew I had the Aldi's version of nuggets and the Just Bare version at home. Nothing sounds wonderful to me anymore and I know that with me eating smaller portions I would have a lot of leftovers. And while a higher calorie meal is fine for one day I don't want to take it more day and risk falling back into back habits if that makes sense. My mindset has shifted and I want to keep it that way.

I did get my teeth fixed as far as the cavities. I have many broken teeth that need to be pulled but that will come in time. It is $487 per tooth at the place I am going. I only have $1500 in dental benefit and they were used with the cleaning and the cavities. I was very, very happy the first few days. Now that it has been two weeks I am not as happy.

Part of it is them and part of it is me. I could probably go in and have them fix it but it isn't worth the novocain. On one tooth she used a filler that is whiter than my tooth so it shows clearly to me but thankfully it is on a side tooth not front. Also the filling is weird in a few areas where she wrapped it around front when filling the back of tooth. They warned me that the fillings can discolor and darked from dark soda and coffee so to be aware. My front tooth was the biggest filling and I have to baby it. Basically half of my front tooth was rebuilt with filler.

This is after she cleaned out the cavity but before she filled it.

the white part is the tooth to the left of the front teeth. My teeth were/are not in good shape from years of neglect. I am happy that I have a full tooth at least. It was getting embarrassing with such a large cavity visible and the tooth crumbling. I will add a picture of the before dentist. I was originally going to get veneers but after reading all the reviews and knowing it would just hurt my teeth more I went it. I am happy to say I am taking care of them properly now.
This is the before the filling appointment.

Dark (diet) soda is my blood if you recall. I drank it for two weeks figuring a straw would help keep it away then realized that I could see the front filling on my tooth whereas I didn't see it at all the 2-3 days after. (Note: with my phone as a flashlight. I cannot see it normally) It could be the stuff settling, it could be from me still drinking dark soda. So I have cut out dark soda for the last 3 days. I am drinking flavored water and I picked up some Sprite Zero. I can still have it but I need to drink fast and rinse out mouth after. So I picked up some 12 oz bottles of my love Dr Pepper Zero for lunch at work as well as some Sprite Zero. Did you know that any soda is back for your teeth? Sipping in it is the worst as the phosphoric acid sits on your teeth and eats your enamel.

The one thing I have been eating TONS and tons of is watermelon. It is full of liquid and is sweet and I add salt so it acts as my electrolyte as well. When you are taking a GLP1 they recommend lots of water and electrolytes. What I am taking is actually a GLP3 (the peptide) that is currently in clinical trials to become regulated and is in phase 3.

I think I have pretty much updated you all on everything I have been doing.

Oh!

Last year I had 3 ESE (special needs) sciences and 3 general ed sciences. I knew at the end of the year I wouldn't have the general ed classes which really bummed me out. I lost any motivation for using my summer to revamp my Physical Science stuff (the class I had gen ed- it felt worth it for 4 periods- not so much for 1) I got a call July 24th with what my classes will actual be. The 3 ESE sciences and I am getting a general ed Personal Finance and Money Management class.

This is actually the original class I wanted to teach when I got my business certification. It is a semester class and I can see my students already. In the first semester I have one that I had in my gen ed science and that student will be THRILLED because I was their favorite teacher (I am their safe person). I also recognize like 3-4 other names from subbing before or sports. In my second semester I do not know one name at all. That class is set to be my first period so no more relaxing mornings like I had last yr. I lot of students in my first period last year were on late buses.

EDIT- I just found some comments in moderation on my last two posts. WHOOPS! I have been using my school laptop to lesson plan or what not and I do not go on my blog from it. I have to power up my personal laptop for that like I did today. Sorry for making you guys be in limbo,
