Tell me about you...

Sooooo you come here to read my drivel everyday yet I know nothing about you. Care to share? I do look at who is reading and I love seeing the various cities around the world coming to learn about me. I hope that I keep you entertained!  :)

Dinner last night was a experiment that was a WIN!  I was planning on making one of the two recipes that Kelly posted on Sunday. I had glanced at them and thought they would work out well for the massive amounts of chicken breasts that we eat. Yesterday I went to make the sour cream one and then I realized that it called for dried stuffing.  Whoops!  I am trying to avoid bread so that wasn't going to work out so hot for me. I ended up just winging it though.  I smeared about 4 oz of sour cream on two chicken breasts. Sprinkled on a decent amount of Kraft Parmesan cheese (don't judge!) then some creole seasoning and garlic powder. I baked them at 350 degrees for about 37 min (was supposed to be 35 but I got distracted) It turned out really, really well!  I was really happy with it and hubby didn't complain. (He dislikes sour cream)

Tonight I knew it was going to be ground turkey (haha!) but I didn't have a plan in mind. I just tossed some stuff together and it worked out well. One pound of ground turkey, 16 oz tub of sliced button mushrooms (clearanced at WD), a few glugs of Worcestershire sauce, a  glug of soy sauce and a can of cream of mushroom soup make for a simple stroganoff type of thing. Served over leftover rice for him and steamed chopped cauliflower for me.

I was off today but I am all about the easy!

What was for dinner in your house?

  1. Steamed carrots, with two very small red potatos
    and some shrimp.

    It was pretty good.

Ist time I have commented on your blog.

    1. Welcome! Thank you for de-lurking! Shrimp nom, nom, nom! :)

  2. Chop Suey (the American Kind), which would go great with your ground turkey!

    1 pound ground purkey
    1 onion diced
    1 can of sliced mushrooms
    1 green pepper diced
    1 can diced tomatoes
    1 can tomato paste
Spice as you want! I just dump until it tastes good!
1 box of whole wheat pasta, cooked to tender.
Mix it all up and YUM!

    Definitely my go to meal!

    1. Hmmmm I have all the stuffs for that currently even! Maybe that will be dinner tonight. Unless I get a jolt of movement and get motivated. LOL TY!

  3. I made some sushi rolls last night. I have one of those mandolins for slicing veggies which makes nice thin slices which I can't seem to master with a knife because I am a klutz in the kitchen.

    -sheet of Nori
    -spread some avocado
-put some smoked salmon or canned tuna or sliced meat
-add sliced carrots and radishes (or whatever veggies you like)
-handful of little greens (cress or sprouts or whatever you have)
-grate a bit of ginger for flavour
Roll the thing up and slice it with a sharp knife
Sprinkle with a bit of Tamari or Soy sauce (but watch the sodium!)and wasabi.

Had a friend and her kids over once and replaced the Nori with rice paper wrap, added some rice in the roll and for the protein I used hot dogs.

    1. Awesome idea! I have never made HM sushi. I have the Aldi mandolin and it is great! I never could get the more costly XOX version to work right for me.

  4. Wednesday dinner? Stuffed if I can remember!
Food that got eaten, and that's the objective eh?

  5. I think I saw that same recipe! I can,t have the bread crumbs or sour cream right now, but I may make it for hubby.

I luuuurve comments!
